As Philly natives who have been together for nearly a decade, Kaitlin and Sean’s love of travel and the Jersey Shore made this the perfect wedding location. With a Stone Harbor beach ceremony and a reception at The Reeds at Shelter Haven wedding, they truly got the best of both worlds.
Morning Moments with the Bride
The day began with soft summer light streaming through Kaitlin’s suite, highlighting the delicate details that made her wedding day so special. Along a lush pathway toward the beach, Kaitlin and Sean shared their first look. I love these private moments where couples can see each other in their wedding attire and soak in the excitement of their day. The greenery provided a soft, romantic backdrop, while Kaitlin’s bouquet, bursting with pinks and oranges, perfectly captured the summery vibe of their wedding. The joy and connection between Kaitlin and Sean made these portraits shine.

Despite a brief rain shower, Kaitlin and Sean were game for anything, climbing onto the jetty for portraits with the ocean as our backdrop. Most brides wouldn’t dare step onto a jetty in couture, but their adventurous spirits made for some unforgettable photos. We also used the drone for several portraits during the first look and beach session, adding unique perspectives. These aerial photos highlighted the incredible beauty of Stone Harbor beach and brought an extra layer of cinematic magic to their wedding story.

The ceremony setup on the beach was simple yet stunning, with colorful florals framing Kaitlin and Sean and the Atlantic Ocean stretching behind them. Surrounded by their family and friends, they exchanged vows and rings, sealing their marriage with a heartfelt kiss. Even with the overcast skies, the energy and love in the air made it a truly magical moment to witness and photograph.
Cocktail Hour at The Reeds at Shelter Haven
After the ceremony, guests transitioned to The Reeds at Shelter Haven wedding cocktail hour overlooking the bay. This bayfront venue is one of my favorites. With its sprawling outdoor spaces, lounge seating, and deck under a canopy of lights, it creates the perfect summer setting. Kaitlin and Sean joined their friends and family, mingling and celebrating before the reception officially began. It’s always a joy to see couples relax and enjoy the day to the fullest, and this hour offered plenty of candid, joyful moments.
Wedding Reception in the Sweet Grass Ballroom at The Reeds at Shelter Haven
The Reeds at Shelter Haven wedding reception was perfect in their Sweet Grass Ballroom, a space that beautifully reflected Kaitlin and Sean’s summer coastal glam vision. Colorful bud vases filled with vibrant florals adorned the long tables with light wooden X-back chairs. Guests cheered as the couple was introduced and made their grand entrance, leading directly into their first dance. From there, the party came alive with laughter, music, and celebration that lasted well into the evening.
As the night progressed, the sunset over the bay became absolutely breathtaking. Of course, we had to step outside for a few quick portraits on the water’s edge, capturing the warm, golden light that only a New Jersey summer can provide. These photos are some of my favorites from the day.
